
Back in the 1990's the construction industry, started to change and companies
began to make significant decisions on how they could make themselves stand out
from the crowd; whether by changing the way they did business or by offering
different schemes and services. It was at this point in time that Nugent's
decided to do things differently from all other construction companies and look
to investing in the people that made up the company.
Having contacted difference construction boards for help, we were encouraged to
approach 'Investors in People' for support and advice whereupon, after meeting
with them, we made the decision to work towards achieving the recognised status
of having this award. Our task was not an easy one. The construction industry is
one of the toughest to work in, for both employer and employee, but with
determination and commitment we achieved what we set out to - and in 1999 we
became the proud holders of Investor in People status.
